Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the Los Alamitos Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the Los Alamitos Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Orange County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the Los Alamitos jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter.

More about c

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the Los Alamitos community.

Los Alamitos, meaning 'the little cottonwoods' in Spanish, is a city in Orange County with a an estimated population of 11,536 as of 2000. the city was officially incorporated in March of 1960 and is often mistaken for including the nearby unincorporated area of Rossmoor. When the Spanish first arrived in the area over 200 years ago, it was riddles with clusters of cottonwood trees, hence the city's eventual name. The area was first purchased by John Bixby who put together a group to buy Rancho Los Alamitos including his cousins Lewellyn and Jotham, owners of Rancho Los Cerritos, and I.W. Hellman, a banker. Bixby died suddenly in 1888 and the land was divided between the three remaining partners. During the 1890s, the group that owned the norther part of the Rancho Los Alamitos land experienced a crash in the land boom, and having experimented with sugar beets in Northern California, decided to bring the product down south and give it a try; the community that is now Los Alamitos sprung up around the sugar beet factory. The company started recreational facilities for its workers and the city truly began to emerge. In 1921, a bad economy and an insect infestation caused the sugar beets crops to drop off significantly and led to the eventual demise of the industry in the area. After the demise of the crops, Fred Bixby, John Bixby's son, used the land to send cattle to fatten up before eventually being sent to the slaughterhouse. Today, the city is known for the USA Water Polo National Aquatic Center; this facility is used by the men's and women's US Olympic water polo teams and major water polo tournaments. The center is located on the US Military Joint Forces Training Base which includes the Los Alamitos Army Airfield.
